Education Opportunities

SCSAE sponsors many education events and seminars throughout the year.

CEO Roundtables

SCSAE's CEO Roundtables are open to the chief staff executive (executive director, CEO) and are informal meetings held on a variety of topics of interest to the CEO. Typically held quarterly, these luncheons are an invaluable way to learn new ideas from fellow execs, gain advice and share best practices. Visit our calendar for information on upcoming Roundtables.

Scholarship Program

Through our Education Fund, SCSAE supports the continuing professional development of our members through our scholarship program.

SCSAE encourages members to earn professional designations such as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) and the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and attend the Institute of Organization.

CAE - Certified Association Executive Designation

The CAE is offered by the American Society of Association Executives - ASAE. Please click here to visit the ASAE website to learn more about the CAE program and application information.

If you are interested in participating in an online study group, please visit the Michigan Society's website at http://www.msae.org/. As a member of SCSAE, you can apply at a reduced rate.

SCSAE has recently begun a CAE Study Group. Please contact SCSAE for additional information on this program.

CMP - Certified Meeting Professional Program

The CMP is offered by the Convention Industry Council. The CMP is designed for the association meeting planner. Please visit http://www.conventionindustry.org/cmp/index.htm for additional information on the CMP.

INSTITUTE

The Institute for Organization Management is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Institute consists of four week-long sessions once a year. The program is held around the country. For more information, please visit the US Chamber website.

SIG Meetings (Small Interest Groups)

Small Interest Group meetings are held regionally around the state. These small happy hours or coffee chats have an industry-related topic and give members a chance to meet in a smaller, more intimate environment.
